That's a bit different you were 100% guarantee to get the giant & the azura no matter what as long as you brought the magazine. This time if you enter that 1000 contest, you might get any of them, could be a good one or a rubbish one or you might not get anything at all.

only players with all 3 campaigns plus the GWEN expansion

"This competition is open only to Benelux readers of PC Gameplay Magazine."

Even if you managed to get your hands on a copy of the magazine, you're going to have to show that you live in Belgium, The Netherlands, or Luxembourg.

I suppose all it really means is that you should hang around the European districts for awhile after the competition ends and the winning codes are used. A lot of those mini-pets should end up for sale afterwards.

Ebay would probably be a good bet as well, though I don't know that I'd pay a lot for a code that's essentially a lottery ticket.

Hey, Guys,

We're really happy that these offers are getting out there, but have no fear! Beyond the local Grawl Giveaways we conducted at various fan shows this sumemr, we will be offering a similar, more-accessible opportunity for players in North America.

having rare minipets available to all players = pointless. while i think 1750e is steep for one, having them all 10k is completely stupid.

Still its always be somewhere and get luckey, or go buy a magazine for the code
Hmmm mini-pet for real world item . . . omg Anet broke EULA

More chance for average people to get pets please Anet, i know these magazines and such pay you for the offers but we do pay as well and i'd of thought the amout you'll make off GW2 selling to as many happy GW customers as possible would be more

I love mini-pets but so far i've had chance to get 2, 2 in nine months
Pig and Black Moa
Only reason i have more is kindness of another player giving me a hydra for a spare pig

Anyway, I think that we are going to have a chance to get any of those minipets through Micromanía magazine but...

vizus if you're lucky go in 1000's of ectos. How in the world are you supposed to buy that?

who's crazy enough to even have that many ectos by just playing the game? unless they use a bot or something i dunno how you can afford

all of you "average" as you call it players, will complain about not having one..but if they all went to 10k and everyone had one. you would say...wow, i have the same pet as everyone else. where are the rare ones?

most of these ppl who afford these have already made their money before all the nerfs, loot scalings, etc. or choose not live in the real world. (still before all the bugs were fixed)

Hopefully us Canadians get a shot at some of these Grawls. Ever since 9/11 along with some boarder changes comic/gaming conventions don't come to Canada as much anymore because vendors are getting screwed over for the stuff they bring over on the way back .

Only ones we can get is pc gamer ones and we don't have much chance at the rare ones.

Also a Canadian only one would be nice.

Just so you know, I totally agree that making items available globally is the best option. Sometimes, though, we need to make partnership arrangements with various magazines and other partners, and this was one case where NCsoft Europe went forward with what sounds like a very well-planned project of that sort. That is not to say that people in other regions will be shorted, as I mentioned above.

In addition, I should tell you that there is a US publication project coming up in the not-too-distant future.

And for those who say "Make them available to everyone" we do so through our community contests, which include a large number of countries in the world and which a recently as last month allowed us to distribute 100 of the special miniatures previously seen only in Asia.

Another complete had.

We had to wait 2 months after publication for that magazine with details for GW 2 and the special Asura minipet code to be available here in rural Australia ... and guess what ... code doesn't work, no real support from the magazine either. Oh ... I can come into their Sydney office and get a replacement copy of the magazine - no guarantee that that code would work either.

Like yeah ... I'm going to drive 800+kms to get a magazine that may have a working code!

Love it how all Americans are whining . Where do all the 'Guild Wars meetings' and all other special events like that take place? The US of A. Europe has always had the disadvantage, not only in this game... For those who want to know what you can win:

Quote:
Het kan zijn dat je een Grawl in je bezit krijgt, maar het kan ook zijn dat je een Shiroken Assassin, Zhed Shadowhoof of zelfs de uiterst zeldzame Vizu wint.
Well, no translation needed I guess. I'll be competing too, really hope I'll be one of the lucky 1000 .
